چکیده
deep fascia about 1 cm lateral to the origin of the zygomaticus major muscle; one ramus passed superficially above the upper third of the muscle. On the right side, this was not seen. The main zygomatic retaining ligaments are located immediately lateral to the origin of the zygomaticus major muscle. The zygomatic branches are usually located deep to the deep fascia in the lateral area of the muscle and passes deep under the third of the muscle. Therefore, the branches are protected while the retaining ligaments are dissected in the sub-SMAS plane. However, in this patient, the risk of the zygomatic branch injury is higher so blunt dissection, adequate vertical traction of the SMAS flap, and the use of tumescent solution are needed to visually differentiate between the retaining ligaments and the nerve branches to avoid any injury.

Current applications and safety of autologous fat grafts: a report of the ASPS Fat Graft Task Force.
TASK FORCE STATEMENT: In 2007, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons formed a task force to conduct an assessment regarding the safety and efficacy of autologous fat grafting, specifically to the breast, and to make recommendations for future research. The task force formulated specific issues regarding fat grafting and then compiled them to focus on five broad-based questions: 1. What are t...
متن کاملThe Safety, Effectiveness, and Efficiency of Autologous Fat Grafting in Breast Surgery
BACKGROUND For years, the safety and effectiveness of autologous fat grafting (AFG) for breast reconstruction have been in question, with particular concern over fat necrosis, calcifications, cyst formation, and interfering with the detection of breast cancer. However, increasing evidence suggests that the complication rates and clinical results are generally acceptable to both clinicians and p...
متن کاملAbstract: Determining the Oncologic Safety of Autologous Fat Grafting as a Reconstructive Modality: an Institutional Review of Breast Cancer Recurrence Rates and Surgical Outcomes
BACKGROUND The increasing use of autologous fat grafting in breast cancer patients has raised concerns regarding its oncologic safety. This study evaluated patient outcomes and tumor recurrence following mastectomy reconstruction and autologous fat grafting. METHODS Retrospective chart review identified patients who underwent mastectomy followed by breast reconstruction from 2010 to 2015. Eig...

Autologous fat transfer offers many qualities of a ideal soft tissue filler. Main advantages of fat grafting ensue from the fact that the lipoaspirate tissue is an abundant source of regenerative pluripotential cells. However, the reported rates of fat cell survival vary greatly in the medical literature (10-90%). Different techniques of harvesting, processing, and reinjecting the fat cells are...
متن کاملAutologous fat grafting to the breast for cosmetic enhancement: experience in 66 patients with long-term follow up.
BACKGROUND Autologous fat grafting to the breast for cosmetic enhancement remains controversial because the efficacy and fate of fat grafting to the breast are primarily unknown. In this report, we present our retrospective study in 66 patients who underwent autologous fat grafting to the breast for various cosmetic reasons and who were followed with sonography, mammography, or magnetic resonan...
